Electric Bikes

Developed from experiences gained in racing, Schwinn established Paramount as their answer to high-end, professional competition bicycles. The Paramount used high-strength chrome-molybdenum steel alloy tubing and expensive brass lug-brazed construction. During the next twenty years, most of the Paramount bikes would be built in limited numbers at a small frame shop headed by Wastyn, in spite of Schwinn’s continued efforts to bring all frame production into the factory. Consumers have a tendency to look away when they encounter a new brand. It’s not a bad strategy most of the time but in the electric bike world, including conversion kits, you’ve got to be more open than that.

Sure, I could have bought an electric bike for thousands, but I like my original bike and this kit was mongoose excursion a breeze to install at a fraction of the price. The GO power pack couldn’t be easier to fit, simply strap it anywhere on your frame, and plug in the single cable. All three of our GO power pack options are the same size, but with different specifications and quantities of lithium cells inside, providing three different range options to choose from.

The features like the neat integrated lighting are rarely seen in the industry and are a definite win. And the build quality feels like it should stand the test of time. Speaking of which, check out my video below to see the bike’s performance and features in action, including those cool frame lights. The Schwinn Coston CE falls in the middle of its e-bike model line, offering a slight upgrade over the Schwinn Marshall but without some of the features found on the higher-end Coston DC. Schwinn has a long and storied history of making the best bikes on the planet specifically for younger riders. That youth-first attitude is fully embraced in our e-bike offerings as well.

Answer just a few questions about your e-bike hopes and dreams, and we’ll connect you to the bike that fulfils all of your needs. While not a new invention, electric bicycles have only recently become more of a household name.

Once the controller is turned on, you will be able to use the motor, lights, and other electric functions. Either way, all you need to do is to connect the battery to a standard household outlet with the included charger. Schwinn are now in their second generation of ebikes with the Marshall, Coston CE and DX. Most ebikes just have a big battery hanging off the bottom tube. It’s still lower than many mountain bikes making it easier to get on and off, especially on awkward spots on the trail.

As Upway is a brand new business in the US, we are only required to charge sales taxes as from a determined level of revenue collected per state. While riding, use the “+” button to increase the level of assist as desired, and use the “-“ to decrease. The Coston and Marshall include an integrated light, which are powered by the main battery, just like the motor. The Coston models have fully integrated head, tail and battery lights; while the Marshall model’s taillight is battery operated and must be turned on separately.

Although shopping online for a vintage Schwinn may net results, you may have better luck if you look at local shopping resources. Bicycle stores and repair shops often carry used or vintage bikes, and they may have some beautiful Schwinn models available. Additionally, you can find vintage Schwinn bikes at garage sales, estate sales, antique shops, and flea markets. Electric bikes put extra power behind every pedal so you can ride farther, take on bigger hills, and enjoy cycling more than ever before. If you like the idea of a mid-drive system and you want it to have torque-sensing pedal assist then you’ve got a few choices. For some people, it’s no big deal to take apart a bottom bracket, but for others, it’s a slightly more intimidating prospect.

Nonetheless, I wish there was a way to zip around town without having to pedal at all. Despite my desire to only bike for exercise, I do admit I get lazy sometimes. Despite my weight and the strain it put on the motor, I found that the bike really does have a 45-mile range on a single charge. I didn’t have a chance to precisely time how long the battery takes to charge from empty but it recharged completely overnight or during a full workday. There are five speeds you can adjust via the bike’s thumb pad controller located on the left handle. The LED display shows you how much assistance you’re getting, as well as how much battery life is left.
