This definitely was my “best trip ever”. I want to write a detailed review of our trip this January. It was literally the BEST trip we have ever taken! I attribute this to our wonderful guide, Wolfugan, who I understand has worked with Gate 1 for 18 years. He met us, along with another couple at the Kilimanjaro Airport, and we opted to ride in his vehicle for the entire trip. Wolf’s knowledge of everything was extraordinary.
We went for Kenya safari with Right Choice for 9 days covering Amboseli , Aberdare, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. It was a dream come true trip for us. This was our first time in Africa and George ensure we had a memorable… We went on fantastic game drives with our guide, Bryson, and saw lions, zebras, rhinos, giraffes, and many other creatures. He knew a great deal about every animal we came across.
She could translate with local artists and knew the locations that might not be safe. She has a quick wit and humor that brought a light-hearted charm to days that were long and cultures that are different from the ones we were more familiar with. Her knowledge gave us a depth of understanding of local history and cultures we experienced. Our trip was fantastic in every way one can imagine. Our interactions with the Gate 1 time prior to the trip was good.
On our first day briefing we were greeted by a smiling Christopher who set forth expectations of our safari and ensured we all introduced ourselves in a comfortable manner. He did not disappoint; I recall we were ready to have lunch and he heard that there was a lion in a schwinn mountain bicycles particular area. Obviously on a safari, we wanted to see wildlife at its best. This made the trip truly unique and the best. I have traveled to many countries and been on 3-4 tours.
The lodging choices were exceptional. The food ranged from very good to excellent, depending on the venue. Having the 4 nights in Zanzibar after the safari portion was so nice, as we got to “unwind” from our whirlwind tour. I had an absolutely wonderful time on the Africa trip! I’m still processing all that I experienced.
Don’s guidance and expertise combined to make our trip a “brilliant jewel” in the GATE 1 crown. Thank you, as always, for great memories. I just wanted to mention specifically how impressed we were with Jason as a guide. The South Africa trip had the most travel involved than any other Gate 1 trip and he seamlessly prepared us for each part of the journey. He never overwhelmed us with details, but he ensured we were always clear on what to expect. He was also attentive to each member of the group and was very knowledgeable at answering questions on a wide range of topics.
