We had the most fabulous tour guide (Jele) who was beyond knowledgeable, with a wonderful personality. I met mongoose excursion some very wonderful fellow travelers in our group! Great itinerary, hotels, food, experiences and fellow travelers and I can’t say enough about our travel director, Charl.
If we want a realistic picture of quality and price, we need to look at the budget and high-end bikes. Founded in the mid-70s, Mongoose is one of the biggest names in bicycles. The company was founded by Skip Hess in Southern California and manufactured BMX bikes before quickly becoming one of the largest companies. She is very personable and was attentive to our needs and took the time to be sure everyone was doing okay and having a splendid holiday. She was knowledgeable about every part of the itinerary and added life to every aspect of our trip. She also answered questions without hesitation and ALWAYS HAD a smile for us. Occasionally, she would treat us to a joke to make us laugh. She was sure to verbally tell what the next day would bring and followed up in writing to be sure everyone was fully aware of what was coming.
Another great hotel was the coffee lodge in Ngorongoro. The rooms were huge, and the pool overlooked the jungle. On top of all that greatness then you add that we saw all of the Big 5, the great migration, a lion kills, lion mating, a mongoose eating a snake and so much more!
