I have been using the 30 oz Ozark Trail tumbler and the 30 oz Yeti Rambler for a true comparison. We love using a straw to drink from, especially while driving. I like how having this lid adds more versatility to the ozark trail canopy Yeti and Ozark Trail tumblers. Both the Ozark Trail tumbler and Yeti tumbler seem to have the same high quality, vacuum-insulation. I started the test first thing when I got to the office and was waiting for hours on end. By the time I left the office about eight hours later, the ice still wasn’t entirely melted and the water levels in both tumblers seemed to be at the same level. Putting them side by side, the Yeti and Ozark Trails tumblers look exactly alike. They’re the same size and shape, are made of stainless steel, and have similar sip tops. The only real physical differences are that Yeti has a slider on the lid and they have different logos adorning the cups (obviously).

And they both really did seem pretty similar in performance and are both fantastic tumblers to consider. Tumblers, one from YETI and one from Ozark Trail, to test if there’s a difference that would make me want to spend 4x as much money for the YETI. We seem to have a growing supply of tumblers at home and I often wonder if there’s a difference between the higher-end brands like YETI and Walmart’s more affordable brand Ozark Trail.
You can use the lid of the Ozark to seal the Yeti tumbler, and vice versa. Using a thermal imaging scope from ATN, I filled one of the 22oz mugs with water boiled to 185 degrees Fahrenheit and another filled with water boiled to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I tested the temperature using a Weber meat thermometer which was $15 off the shelf. I used plain water which I boiled to temperature and placed inside each of the Tumblers and immediately closed with the provided lids.
They can keep drinks cold or hot for hours, which can truly be a lifesaver whether you’re on the road, in the car, at the office, or at home. This design consists of, you guessed it, two stainless steel walls as well as a vacuum sealed chamber that sits in between the two walls. With a traditional single wall thermos, convection occurs transferring the internal heat out or vice versa, impacting the liquids temperature over time and at a greater pace. With the locking lid, there appears to be more heat transference than the open mouth lid. Even with the locking lid absorbing more heat, it does provide a few degrees more heat retention over time. Like most things in life, there is so much more that goes in to your coffee than flipping on your coffee machine. To achieve the optimal cup of coffee you have both a recommended brew temperature as well as a recommended serving temperature. The crazy thing here is that these recommendations were not only provided by a group of hipsters who assembled at their local coffee shop.
